About the Book
’15 Chameleons’ is collection of 15 short stories that highlight the normal, the mundane and the accepted issues which we have become so immune to that we have forgotten to question them, rather we have accepted them as a part of our lives. These stories depict a satirical caricature of our everyday life in the contemporary Indian society. The themes of the stories are the virtues, vices, emotions which we are all familiar with – fame, power, wealth, love and other human values, and showcase the willingness of the people from different classes to let go of these values. They are presented in a stark, unembellished style, devoid of pretensions. They are meant to shock, sicken and disturb. They are meant to wake us up to think what has changed since we first celebrated our freedom. The stories call for action to our collective conscience to rethink our values, attitudes, prejudices and priorities. This is about the real ‘us’ inspired by many incidents and stories. (View Book)
